In the pride and prejudice book Jane Austen express the reason and emotions of couples and getting a marriage using different characters through out the book such as Mr. and Mrs. Bennett, Charlotte and Mr. Collins, Elizabeth and Mr. Darcy, and Jane and Mr. Bingley. The Bennetts never really seemed to get along or have passion for each other at all. To me it seemed that the only reason why they were together was because Ms. Bennett wanted to marry a man of class with a lot of money, or so as Mrs. Bennet preached to her daughters, the more money the man has the more attractive he looks she would say and for Mr. Bennett i believe he married only because young Ms. Bennett was beautiful as he says Much like the marriage between Mr. Collins and Charlotte. We as the reader know that Charlotte has no emotion or feelings to her husband she just wanted to marry a simple man, someone convenient to partner up with. Lydia and Mr. Wickham, there really isn't any explaining to do in this marriage Wickham and Lydia Slept together and did the dirty (haha sorry) and Mr. Bennett was forced to pay Wickhams debts so that Lydia would not be considered a "whore" in the village. Lydia brags about her marriage not knowing that her husband was paid off to marry her and was clueless of what Mr. Darcy had done so that she Could marry Wickham The relationship between Jane and Mr. Bingley i believe is a good and simple marriage between to humans that like one another. Jane did not want to rush into marriage like her sisters and mother had pressured her into but she found an attraction towards Mr. Bingley and Mr Bingley likewise to her. They have an ideal marriage to me but i don't believe Austen feels the same way, I feel that Austen believes that Elizabeth and Mr. Darcy have the ideal marriage, Elizabeth is first introduce to Darcy and thinks he is shame of a man and she despises him.Mr. Darcy falls in love with Lizzy and when he proposes to Lizzy he is hit with a big fat no for Lizzy she is actually mad that Darcy would even think Lizzy had some type of attraction to him. I Believe Austen thinks this a good example of marriage because there is a strong bond of love and that Lizzy and Darcy gain passion for each other over time and they grow to love each other they fall in love with each other and have respect for one another.
